Discover The Phi Phi Islands - Phuket

Located between the large island of Phuket and the west Strait of Malacca, the Phi Phi islands of Thailand has become a popular tourist attraction – especially to those who love to greet the open air by smelling the refreshing scent of the salty sea. This charming area where the limestone mountains meet the ripples of the sea, is composed of two islands namely, Phi Phi Leh (which is completely free of inhabitants) and Phi Phi Don (the island without any roads), thus, providing its visitors a balance of fun and peace and quiet. Listening to the waves that hit the shore whilst staring beyond the horizon, the Phi Phi islands offers a different kind of beach experience, even if it is flocked by many. It is the perfect little paradise to those who want to remove themselves from the city, and relax on the island’s sands.

Though the general appearance of the islands are as pristine and clear as its waters, it is still able to provide thrill seeking adventures to travelers who want to experience a little bit of adventure. Because of its crystal like waters, visitors, with a gung-ho spirit, may plunge themselves into the sea via cliff jumping or through a friendly snorkeling session. Experienced divers can grab their gear and get a chance to come face-to-face with Phi Phi islands’ aquatic critters. There are numerous activities travelers can enjoy on the islands as well. They can sit and dine in restaurants, which can definitely satisfy even the choosiest of taste buds, can get a taste of both local and international cuisines. For a more calming environment, visitors may take yoga classes or simply lie down and get a traditional Thai massage. As for the travelers who want to commemorate their visit with ink, walk into any of Phi Phi islands’ tattoo shops, and receive on through the bamboo method or machine.

The Phi Phi islands may seem like it is bursting with life, but Trip Guru would like to remind travelers to always be aware of their actions. Because of the massive waves of tourists that come and go each day, the islands’ natural beauty is slowly being destroyed. That is why, if ever you do plan to visit the Phi Phi islands, make sure to clean up after yourself and create minimal waste as much as possible.

The only way to arrive at the Phi Phi islands is to traverse the sea. Around the shores of Phuket and Krabi town, there will be ferries and speedboats that will take you to the islands. Ferries leave around 8:30 to 10:00am and 1:30 to 2:30pm. Speedboats, on the other hand, are more flexible because they can be hired for private use.
