Ba Na Hills Place guide

This lush mountainside resort was inherited from the French, formerly a hill station during the colonial period. Ba Na features refreshingly cool weather and gorgeous countryside views – and now the most uniquely placed of amusement parks not just for family travelers. Millennials come if just to take an epic shot on the “Golden Bridge” of Instagram fame – a walkway suspended over giant hands that jut out of the mountain. 

Situated 20km away from downtown Da Nang,Sun World Na Na Hills Asia Park Da Nang is the theme park that now occupies the site. It was developed from 2015-2018 into an extensive entertainment center sitting 1,487m above sea level.

What to see and do:

• Ride the extensive cable car system: Catch amazing views of the Vietnam theme park  on one or all five of the cable car routes on Sun World Da Nang. 
  
  
• Visit the French Village: Everything you imagined a rustic French town to be, from its hôtel de ville (city hall) to the place de la République (main square). Check out Crystal World while you’re there – the first quartz cave inaugurated in Vietnam.
  
  
• Get epic photos on the Golden Bridge: This recent architectural and design marvel has won numerous awards and international recognition. It was voted by TIME magazine as one of the “Top 10 Best Destinations of the World” when it opened in 2018 and cited by The Guardian as “The world’s most impressive pedestrian bridge”.
  
  
• Relive your childhood at the amusement park: Yes, you can make for Jurassic Park or Fantasy Park, the country’s largest indoor game zone inspired by the iconic novels “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea” by French writer Jules Verne. We’d head straight for the Alpine Coaster!
  
  
• Pay your respects at the mountain’s spiritual sites: Classic Vietnamese and Buddhist architecture converge in these holy places, including pagodas, a stupa, monastery and shrine
