Chaweng Beach is known as Koh Samui's Party Central. There are streets leading off to plenty of bars and pubs suitable for every budget, alongside restaurants, clubs, and discos. During the daytime, travellers can enjoy the sand and fun sports activities but nighttime is when Koh Samui really shines. Some of the best places to visit in Chaweng Beach include the Reggae Pub, offering Bob Marley-style entertainment with funky, original music with talented DJs, flowing beer and pool tables. Another great place to visit is the Soi Green Mango, known for its budget-friendly drinks, loud music, and great entertainment. Another fun place is the Mint Bar, easily at the forefront of Koh Samui's international music dance scene. They feature DJs such as Kenny Hawkes and Lisa Loud and paired with air conditioning, comfortable seating areas and great drink deals.
To get to Chaweng Beach, you can take a taxi from the Chaweng City Center or hire a motorbike. You can also get to Chaweng Beach on foot by following the Sanan Bin Road in Koh Samui’s City Center. If you’re coming from Khao San Road, you can travel by bus through the southern bus terminal, going to Dong Sak. You can also take a ferry-boat to Koh Samui, though this can take around 12 to 14 hours.
Nightlife areas in Chaweng Beach can open as early as 5:00pm and close around 1 or 2:00am. Take care when using a taxi, as there are drivers who will presume that people headed to Chaweng Beach have a lot to spare and may charge high fares. Do make sure that the driver will flag down their rate, and don’t allow them to deal with fixed price fares. Always watch over your own drink and make sure to keep an eye on your belongings.
