About
Animal lovers and outdoorsy types will be in for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a trip to Snow Monkey park. These adorable critters are the world’s most northern-dwelling primates and the best adapted to snowy conditions, hence how they got their name. But as you’ll soon learn, even snow monkeys need to warm up once in while. Ever seen National Geographic photos of monkeys in hot springs? Get ready to feast your eyes on them in in real life!

The day will begin with an introduction to your friendly tour guide at Nagano Station, before getting on the road to Snow Monkey park. After a 25-minute trek along a nature trail, we’ll arrive at the world-famous monkey onsens otherwise known as Jigokudani Monkey Park where - with any luck - the cheeky critters will already be enjoying a warming bath.
‘’The Snow Monkeys are super cute and it's a lot of fun’’— Anna Lulu
Admiring the snow monkeys of Japan will probably be the highlight of your day but there’s plenty more entertainment in store. After a tasty local lunch, we’ll journey on to Zenko-ji Temple, dating back to the 7th century and home to the oldest Buddhist statue in all of Japan. After admiring the impressive gold and teak pagoda, we’ll indulge in an equally important part of the culture - sake! Trying Japan’s most popular drink is a must while in Nagona, so we won’t leave the temple until you’ve had chance to sample it with your informative guide. Cheers!
