About
Today, we’ll explore one of the world’s largest religious monuments by bicycle, riding from temple to temple as we learn about the Angkor civilization from a local guide. We begin bright and early with a ride through Charles De Gaulle Road to get to the main entrance of the archeological park.
After walking through the Angkor Wat complex, we then move on to Angkor Thom and learn about the last enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. We’ll also go off the beaten track to check out the hidden temples of Prasat Chrung.
“We really enjoyed cycling through the Angkor site. Our guide was passionate about his city and the Angkor temples, and keen to share his knowledge with us.” — Solene, Singapore
The next stop is Bayon temple, the state’s religious centre under King Jayavarman VII. Marvel at the intricate and lavish designs here, the most famous being giant stone faces that adorn the temple’s walls and towers.
“Our bikes were new and in great working order, and the trails chosen were fun and slightly challenging. Being able to avoid the traffic when heading into some of the temples is definitely a plus. The temples are incredible, including the many you get to ride past while traveling to the next one.” — Craig, Canada
