About
Got a day to soak up the sights and sounds of bustling Bangkok? This city with a reputation for messy nights on Khao San Road is also packed with hidden gems and grand historical landmarks. During this action-packed trip, we’ll learn about Buddhism and Bangkok’s rich history as we explore like the locals do – by foot, tuk-tuk and riverboat.
During this full day in the Thai capital, we’ll head to the following spots of interest. Pack your walking shoes!
Bangkok Artificial Flowers Market: We can’t think of a more scenic start to the day than wandering a market dedicated to flowers. Since these colorful bouquets won’t wilt, it’s the perfect excuse to pick up a few souvenirs.
Wat Arun: This spectacular Buddhist temple also known as the Temple of Dawn is nestled beside the river. The site is a hidden gem compared to the busy Grand Palace. We’ll head towards the dreamy white spires by boarding a riverboat across the Chao Phraya River and learn about the history from our friendly guide.
Wat Pho: The Temple of the Reclining Buddha is no exaggeration – the enormous gold Buddha statue inside measures an impressive 46 metres in length lying down. See it with your own eyes before we wander the ornate grounds and spot countless other religious statues.
‘‘This entire complex is a thing of beauty. Manicured lawns and extreme detail in the buildings. What a beautiful place to see!’’ — Mark, USA
Wat Phra Kaew Bangkok: Also known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha Bangkok, this is an important religious site for Thai people. As well as admiring the huge Buddha statue carved from jade, you’ll catch a spectacular panoramic view of the Bangkok skyline.
Royal Grand Palace Bangkok: Because you can’t visit Bangkok and miss the Grand Palace, we’re taking you for an afternoon stroll of the city’s most visited attraction. Home to the Thai royal family until 1925, the King Palace Bangkok is home to countless shrines adorned in mosaic, gold and glittering mirrors. It’ll be a highlight of your Asia trip for sure
“This is a MUST when you're in Bangkok.” — Kaj, USA
Wat Traimit: Weighing a staggering 5.5 tonnes, the temple of the Golden Buddha contains one of the largest statues in Asia.
