Of all the memories the historical sights and spiritual grounds that sprawl Cambodia’s ancient city, experiencing the sunrise over Angkor Wat temple is one of the most spectacular. The transition from baby blues to orange glows over the Three Towers is truly unlike any other sunrise on earth.
Why not book a cycling group tour that starts with this magnificent sunrise? On two wheels, explore the ancient Buddhist temple, Angkor Thom, and see the distinct character of its architecture. Your knowledgeable guides can help find the best views and share stories of the sanctuary’s many mysteries. After learning about Cambodia’s unique history at Angkor Wat, there will be plenty of opportunities to experience the local culture with off-road bike tours to villages, souvenir hunting and local fare for lunch. You also get to explore the root-covered structures of Ta Prohm, the Jungle Temple popularly known for appearing in Tomb Raider.
- Gather at meeting point at Siem Reap Town, about 10-minute walk from Noon Night Market
- Depart and proceed to Angkor Wat for sunrise, move around the place and find the perfect spot for the best view
- Choose between eating local snacks or local Khmer coffee
- Proceed to dirt roads of the local villages. Interact with the locals and children that live around the ancient temples
- End of tour and drop-off back at meeting point
Well watching Angkor Wat sunrise at 6am is a breathtaking moment and a memorable experience. But instead of taking a van or a tuk tuk with fixed schedules, wouldn't be much better to have the freedom to explore around the circuit with your bikes as you wish? Escape from the crowd and go all-in for this activity, you won't regret! The tour includes 2 bike leaders and 1 official (licensed) Tour Guide who will stop and tell you about the story and history of each temple to understand exactly what exactly happened there and how this civilisation could build up one of the best architectonic constructions on earth! That is a geat add value as 90% of the people just go there to take pictures, but has no clue all the mystery behind the rocks! Since we got a 3 day pass access to the temples (not included in the price of this activity), we have seen Angkor Wat and Bayon the day before. The tour leaders were very flexible so when all the crowd was there waiting for the sunrise in Angkor, we were standing alone in Ta Prohm which for me is the best temple in Siem Reap. Being there, absolutely alone, waiting for the sun, was truly a once-in a lifetime experience!! The whole crew is very friendly, funny and will take you to explore the temples through off the beaten paths of the circuit. You will see a lot of countryside and how local people live. We stopped 30 minutes for a breakfast Is not tough activity at all, anyone can bike this tour which is aprox 30kms. Is very enjoyable as all the bikes are top line (GIANT). Well done Trip Guru, I will do this activity again and recommend to everybody who goes to Angkor Wat.
Don’t forget to bring your cameras! The sunrise is a scene worth keeping for life. In fact, it’s one of the best souvenirs of my entire trip!
This sunrise was absolutely gorgeous. Seeing it rise over the Angkor Wat was the most breathtaking sights I’ve ever seen in my life. Definitely recommending it to the rest of my friends!
