World-renowned for its highly developed arts, Bali is one of Asia’s most distinct forces in the realms of architecture, dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalwork and music. This enriching one-day cultural tour of Bali takes us away from the coast and into the ancient island’s savoir-faire, whose traditions go as far back as the 1st century AD. We begin by watching a performance of the Barong and Keris Dance at Batubulan Village – a revue of local legends accompanied by the enchanting sounds of the Gamelan orchestra. Next we visit one of Bali’s most colorful hubs: the traditional Balinese Celuk art village, with its unforgettable walls and intricately designed sculptures.
“This amazing structure is home to an interesting silver & gold workshop and gallery, but what blew us away were the statues and decor. The craftsmanship was exceptional and the staircase inside had that wow factor. The work they do is wonderful. Many of the designs are truly unique.” – Nungen, Los Angeles, California
After that, we’ll be showing you the unique landscapes of the Tegalalang rice terraces and the Kintamani Geopark, home to some of Bali’s most beautiful mountain villages with spectacular views of the sacred Batur volcano and lake.
Finally, a cultural education in Balinese customs is not complete without witnessing the religious bathing rituals at Titra Empul Temple, also known as a temple of purification. As part of Balinese Hindu tradition, followers come and bath in the bubbling springs all around the temple. Freshwater – considered by natives to be holy – is pumped in everyday via the “subak” system, which garnered Bali its Unesco status.

Katut was a great guide. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We went and saw the volcano, rice terraces, and temples. So much better with a guide to tell you about them rather than aimlessly just walking around them. There was only 2 of us and he was happy to customize it on the day only spending as much time at each activity as we wanted. I would definitely recommend this tour as a great way to see different parts of Bali in one day.
When I first heard about this tour I though that 10 hours was too much. But when I convinced myself to go, I was not disappointed. I love the outdoors and learning about new cultures. And when I was able to talek to the locals I was so happy that I was spending most of my time in Bali in this tour.
The next time I need to spend 10 hours of my life I will definitely do it on this tour. I've never seen Bali like this before. I thought it was all sun and beaches, but this tour proved me wrong. Will definitely bring someone along next time to join me.
