About

The Tonle Sap Lake, which is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, shares its site with floating villages and townships that offer a remarkable glimpse into everyday life in Siem Reap. Pass through pergolas, visit a local monk training school and explore the stilted houses of Kompong Phluk where you get to see how the locals live their lives in the countryside. This is one of the least visited areas of the lake, where the authentic Cambodian day-to-day still exists for its residents.

From the pagodas of the village, hop aboard a traditional longtail boat and make your way into a flooded mangrove forest. Depending on the season, you’ll have the option to row through it or walk. If you’re lucky, the floodplains will be high, and you’ll be met with a serene and calming boat ride through the quiet greenery.

If majestic sunsets are some of the most enjoyable moments in any tour, seeing them from a cruise ship makes the experience even better. The trip ends with a cruise aboard a floating restaurant, just in time to see the sun setting on the Tonle Sap Lake.
