Ancient temples hold many stories to be told and Cambodia is filled with many of these rich cultural sites. If you’re the type who loves to explore ancient ruins, then booking this tour is your chance to see these amazing landmarks yourself.
One of the most prominent temples featured in this tour is the Beng Mealea, a lesser known but historically important temple. Unlike the famous Angkor Wat, these ruins have rarely been explored. You’ll notice a lot of trees and vines growing into the structure, which gives it the impression of long-forgotten ruins – an ideal place for adventurous explorers to see. Your guides will be more than happy to show you the hidden secrets of this place, from the hidden passageways to the secret rooms. Aside from this, you can also visit the nearby villages of Siem Reap and witness how the locals live in their homes and farms. One of these is the town of Kompong Khleang. You can interact with the villagers, try out the traditional Khmer cooking at the restaurants and continue exploring the area before returning to your hotel. This whole-day group trip also offers free transportation from your hotel and back.

Visiting the historic sites and exploring the local towns are two things I always do when visiting another country. I’m proud to say that this tour delivered the best of both.
Exploring the ancient temples is probably the closest thing you’ll get to feeling like a genuine Tomb Raider. From exploring the hidden passageways to seeing the masonry, it’s quite a sight to see.
