Rise and shine to a full day tour of Chiang Rai’s rural landscape and discover a place where Thailand, Laos and Burma (or Myanmar) converge: The Golden Triangle. Separated only by the mighty Mekong River, which passes through the south of China and snakes all the way down to the lower delta of Vietnam, the territory has earned a reputation from its past of growing opium. Today, it’s a sight to see by boat and foot, and tourists from all over the world flock to experience its history and culture.
Before arriving at the Golden Triangle, pay a visit to Thailand’s most recognizable structure, the Wat Rong Khun, or The White Temple. Here, you’ll see the painstaking attention to detail of Chalermchai Kositpipat, a local artist and the owner of the private art exhibit of the temple grounds, who considers the representation of Buddhist principles and enlightenment an offering to Buddha in exchange for immortal life.
The tour also includes stops at must-see destinations including the Mae Khajan hot springs and the Mae Sai market. You have the option to visit the neighboring nation of Laos to purchase local goods and souvenirs at your own expense.

The people were all nice the tour was good, but very long. Though we were warned before hand that it was literally all day. The lunch at th Buffett wasn’t that great though. Other than that it was worth it.
The White Temple is a masterpiece! it’s so unique and really hard to find the word that can totally describe the feeling when you stand in front of it. Thanks to our guide Andy told us a lot about the triangle zone, mysterious and interesting.
Literally entered Loas boarder, nice boat ride. Nothing too special at the market, still worth to do so though.
It was a really great experience with our knowledgeable guide Ken, without those interesting and lively stories our trip won’t be so amazing. You should take a close look of Asian culture when travel here, and this was a good chance.
Getting to know more about the Golden Triangle and stayed in the zone, imagine the old days here, makes you feel like in a movie.

The Golden Triangle was just great! Didn't know that the Mekong River was able to pass through Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. (I wasn't too great in Geography.) It was a good thing that the market was nearby, as well. Couldn't imagine staying at the triangle the whole day doing nothing.
I had no idea that a place like this existed! It was kind of cool to see that Laos was nearby and that I could easily visit the country with one boat ride. The side stops were great too, gave me a few hours to relax before walking around the market.
