About
If the karst landscapes of Guilin in China, El Nido in the Philippines and Krabi in Thailand call out to you, then Ha Long Bay 165 km northeast of Hanoi is a must. There aren’t many stops in Northern Vietnam more picturesque than this tranquil sea of green. Distinctive cliffs jutt above the turquoise waters of this place, also known as the Gulf of Tonkin. Almost every magical rock formation is ripe for exploration, and easily reached by boat. With over 3,000 unique island-sculptures to admire, you’re set for a fantastic day cruising through them during this return Halong Bay day tour from Hanoi...
‘‘The most amazing region home to limestone cliffs that tower above the emerald waters.’’ – Where Goes Rose?
Following an early morning pick-up, we’ll leave the hazy rat race of scooters and pagodas behind as we depart Hanoi’s Old Quarter. At Tuan Chau Harbour, we’ll be introduced to our sweet ride for the day: an open-topped cruise ship ready to set sail around the world-famous area. You’ll dine on a generous menu of fresh seafood from the surrounding nature-rich region as the awe-inspiring views begin to drift by the cabin windows: towering limestone islets topped by rainforest. Your guide may point out the following shapes to you: fighting cocks, an incense burner, a thumb, duck or dog...
After passing the Hoa Cuong Fishing Village, we’ll stop at Ba Hang Village where you can choose between a kayak or bamboo raft for further autonomous exploring. The adventure is far from over at this point, as we have yet to visit the cavernous Thien Cung Cave, a fascinating sensory experience to which words cannot do justice. After admiring the stalactites and stalagmites formed millions of years ago, we’ll head back to Hanoi full of local knowledge, first-hand experiences and enough photos to blow up any Instagram feed!
