About

Meet your guide at JR Himeji Station North Exit and begin your visit to Himeji Castle, Japan’s most well-preserved feudal castle and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you walk through the main keep and defensive corridors, your guide explains how the castle was designed to protect against attackers and why it remains remarkably intact today. Instead of just sightseeing, you gain a clear understanding of samurai-era architecture and history.

After a lunch break, continue toward Mount Shosha to visit Engyoji Temple. This historic Buddhist temple complex is spread across a forested hillside, offering a calm and spacious atmosphere. The wooden halls and lecture buildings date back centuries and remain active religious sites.

The contrast between the grand castle and the tranquil temple gives you a well-rounded view of Himeji’s cultural heritage, all within a relaxed half-day schedule.
