By cycling through the city, you will see a different side of Chiang Mai - the narrow lanes, the hustle and bustle of the usually unseen backroads and some hidden gems. You will be cycling at your own pace, and view the city's most precious sites. You will first pass through the ancient Tha Phae Gate, leading you to Somphet Market, where you can take a light stroll to browse and sample local sweets and treats.
The first temple we stop at will be Wat Chiang Man, Chiang Mai’s oldest temple. Here you will see where the ancient Marble and Crystal Buddha icons are enshrined.
After this, you will visit Wat Sadue Muang, also known as the “temple of the city navel”. This is where the founding pillar of Chiang Mai was first placed and you’ll also be able to spot the 700 year old white Buddha monument.
Our final stop is Wat Chedi Luang, the historic centre and grandest monument of Chiang Mai. This is the original resting place of the Emerald Buddha, before it was transported to Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
