About
It is said that the best way to discover a new destination’s culture is through their food. Take it one step further during this half day tour with the popular Jeding Bali Cooking Class! We will start by picking you up from your hotel and heading straight for a traditional Balinese market. There you’ll be warmly greeted by locals where you’ll experience their daily activities around the hustle and bustle. Follow your instructor through the vendors as you shop and learn about the ingredients you’ll soon prepare during your cooking class.
Following the market, we’ll continue on a short trek through beautiful rice fields. Your instructor will share a bit about the Unesco-recognized water irrigation system known as Subak, and the process for growing rice.
Next, we’ll head to the Jeding Bali housing compound to start our cooking class. Surrounded by green vegetation and overlooking a deep ravine, you will be welcomed by the Jeding Bali family before learning how to prepare nine delicious traditional dishes.
Learn about local fresh herbs, spices, and ingredients while your instructor takes you step by step on how to cook your Balinese meal. Once dishes are complete, enjoy the labor of your teachings! Mind and belly filled with Balinese culture, it’ll be clear why this is the most popular cooking class in Bali!
“We booked a last minute class and were picked up right on time 2 hours later. Our guide Nyoman was very knowledgeable and friendly, taking our little group to some rice fields and explaining all about Balinese culture and lifestyle. The actual cooking was so much fun, with Nyoman assigning out different jobs at each step so we were always busy. And the food was delicious! So glad we found this class, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fun cooking and cultural experience!” — Jenna C, TripAdvisor
