About
Spend your afternoon visiting the famous Bridge On The River Kwai, Amphawa Floating Market, and two nearby temples in this full day Kanchanaburi tour.
We’ll start our trip in the afternoon with pick up from your accommodation. Our first stop is the Bridge On The River Kwai. It was built by WW2 prisoners of war along the Siam-Burma Railway, also known as the Death Railway. We’ll walk along the bridge learning about its historical and cultural significance before heading to our next destination.
“The bridge itself is still in operation and is breathtaking to see. The history behind it is harrowing but it is a magnificent site.” — Alex, United Kingdom
Wat Tham Seua or Tiger Cave Temple is a Buddhist temple perched atop a mountain. Named because of the tiger paw prints on the cave walls, we’ll climb to the top and take in the gorgeous scenery, marvel at the large gleaming statue of Buddha, and explore the main temple area.
Our next stop is Wat Bang Kung. Built during the Ayutthaya period, this Buddhist temple is covered in the roots and branches of nearby Banyan trees, making it seem like a hidden temple in the forest. Take a peek at the golden Buddha statue inside and snap photos of the iconic entrance before we make our way to the Amphawa Floating Market.
“The temple inside of the banyan tree is fascinating. The temple is small, but really pretty with bold and vibrant colors.” — Kiesha, USA
Visiting a floating market in Thailand is as essential as visiting its greatest temples. Board a traditional boat and cruise down the river as you see vendors paddling on their watercraft boats loaded with produce. Soak up the sights at the river, shop for souvenirs, or grab at passing street food to load up for the trip back to Kanchanaburi.
Enjoy a low-impact way of exploring. With TripGuru, you explore sustainable experiences that prioritize providing water in glass bottles and offsetting carbon emissions in every tour, reducing your environmental impact and carbon footprint.
