About

If relaxing on holiday sounds like someone else’s idea of a good time, grab a sun hat and let us take you exploring through the lush Sri Lankan countryside. While Colombo is full of history, entertainment and gastronomy, the delights of Sri Lanka are certainly in the green and glorious countryside as you’ll soon find out. We’ll pick you up by tuk-tuk (a must-do experience while in Sri Lanka!) and take you to Parliament Square where you’ll meet your cycling group.

Head into the countryside as that's where the beauty of Sri Lanka lies.’’ – Where Goes Rose

Next, you’ll get an energetic workout as we explore Colombo’s countryside by bike. With 24 kilometres to cover during the morning, we’ll have plenty of time to admire the green landscape and paddy fields that characterise the region. The best bit? We’re taking the scenic backroads to avoid any hectic traffic! After passing a bird sanctuary and the well-loved Diyawanna Oya Lake where the Sri Lankan Parliament Building rests on an island, we’ll arrive at the majestic Kelaniya Temple. This is one of the largest and holiest temples in Sri Lanka as it’s believed the Buddha himself visited.

‘’A lovely Buddhist temple on the outskirts of Colombo’’ – Gordon H, Trip Advisor

Buddhists from all over the country travel to Kelaniya to pray, making it a fantastic place to soak in the culture. Admire the giant sleeping Buddha statue and learn about his life from the intricate paintings inside. Afterwards, we’ll transfer you back to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest!
