About

“An ancient ritual that’s as integral to Moroccan life as tagine and mint tea, visiting a hammam offers respite, and a way to get a deeper understanding of the culture and people. A beloved practice that continues to thrive in modern Morocco, it provides locals and visitors alike an opportunity to rejuvenate, while getting really, really clean.”Jess Simpson, Intrepid Travel

Visiting a hammam (Middle Eastern steam bath) in Marrakech isn’t quite the same as having a normal spa day back home. Coming to the hammam is a part of everyday life in Morocco, as it is in other Islamic countries such as Turkey. Apart from being a way to purify and cleanse oneself, it’s also a gathering spot to socialize for many!

Our experience includes admission into one of the city’s most luxurious hammams in the heart of the Medina. Here, you’ll be pampered in nothing short of the most exotic, tranquil, and elegant of settings. Expect to strip down to your bikini or towel as you enter the steam room to sweat out all your toxins. Your traditional bathing and cleansing ritual has begun.

After opening up your pores, it’s time to get lathered in black soap and then scrubbed with a eucalyptus scrub to remove dead skin. Typically, you will get immersed in cold water afterwards to ensure a silky-smooth finish – not to mention a feeling so fresh not even the hottest North African day can take away from you!

Finally, it’s time for the most relaxing of massages with no less than the famous Moroccan argan oil. You’ll end the day wholly rejuvenated from the innovative treatments and ancient rituals in the midst of exquisitely designed chambers of tapered arches and jewel tones. We will drop you off at your riad in altogether a different mood from when we first picked you up.

“The massage turned out to be the best I’ve ever had. The young, friendly girl seemed to know instinctively exactly where I ached; I left the hammam feeling like a new woman.”Emily Luxton, United Kingdom
