Go an adventure that has all the thrills, but none of the recklessness with this sustainable experience of native elephant interactions. That’s right, there’s none of those discouraged elephant rides and shows here. Over the past decade, rescue centers like the ones situated in the Mae Taeng district have made it their advocacy to protect these gentle mammals.
An elephant facility, in particular, opens its doors to guests who want to learn more about the majestic creature. Through a whole (or half) day tour, walk through how to feed, care, mount and even bathe the elephants! Think of it as an elephant school for humans and day care for the animals. Whether you’re traveling alone, as a couple or with an entire group, let the elephants give you a glimpse of nature that you won’t soon forget.
As though that wasn’t enough, ignite your passion for adrenaline by whitewater rafting through the Mae Taeng River. Known for moderate rapids that will test your paddling strength and appetite for adventure, the winding river also features moments through the lush forest canyons of the surrounding region.

It's a fun activity to do for anyone wanting to visit Thailand. I'd recommend booking it as part of your things to do while in the town. You get to learn so much more about these elephants. I'd love to come back again.
This was a unique experience for me. Taking care of these elephants was something that I never did before but the handlers were very supportive when they showed us how to do it. The baby elephants were really cute and fun to work with too!
