This electric-blue flame, caused by burning sulfuric gases, can only be seen at night in complete darkness, and Ijen is one of just two places in the world where it occurs. This direct overnight tour takes you from Bali to the crater and back in a single 24-hour trip, with no multi-day commitment required.

The journey begins with a private pickup from your hotel in Bali in the early evening. After a dinner stop at a local restaurant, you'll cross by ferry from Gilimanuk Port to Ketapang Port in Java, then continue by private vehicle to the foot of Mount Ijen. From here, a licensed local trekking guide leads you on the night hike up to the crater, where you'll witness the glowing blue flames up close before staying to watch the sunrise over the crater lake below.

After breakfast near the trailhead, the return journey begins — back through Ketapang Port, across the ferry to Bali, with a stop for lunch along the way, before arriving back at your hotel in Bali the same afternoon.
