About
The majestic limestone karsts made famous by the 1974 James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun, remains one of Thailand and Phuket’s famous landmarks. If you’ve ever wanted to see the stunning cliffs up close, join this full day tour by longtail boat for an epic adventure!
Our first stop of the day is Wat Suwan Khuha, also known as the Monkey Cave because of the rambunctious primates inhabiting the temple complex. We’ll descend into the cave temple and look at the statues and carvings before we make our way to the pier. From there we’ll board a longtail boat and head to our second stop, Panyee Island.
Also known as the Floating Village, Panyee Island is a village built on stilts by the fishermen in the area. We’ll explore the village, taking in the everyday details of the locals, before having lunch at a local restaurant in the village. After stuffing our bellies with delicious local fare, we’ll board our boat and make our way to Talu Cave.
“Think of wooden family homes, markets, a school and a big beautiful white and gold mosque all combined in a giant maze that floats on water! Epic right?! A great eye opener to the different ways people live their lives… This place really is like nowhere I’ve ever seen before and I enjoyed every second experiencing it.” – Duke, Australia
We’ll have some time to canoe and explore the cave area before heading to the day’s main attraction, James Bond Island. Our guide will bring us to a stop at the perfect viewpoint to see the breathtaking rock formation. Standing at roughly 20 meters tall, the solitary cliff surrounded by the turquoise waters and nearby cliffs, makes a picturesque momento to remember the day’s adventure by.
“The location is out of this world! James Bond Island itself is very scenic and the fantastic limestone cliffs are breathtaking. It’s always fun to see the real thing from a movie – even if the movie is old – and to realize there is no door to the secret lair and no radar coming out of the rock!” – Sahil, India
