About
The beauty of Port Barton isn’t in the town; it’s out at sea! If you’re looking for a fun day exploring the Philippines, you can’t do better than cruising the coastline in a typical wooden boat, stopping to snorkel, swim with turtles, and snap photos of the turquoise waters and uninhabited islands.
‘‘If you’re travelling to Palawan and want to go island hopping somewhere that is not as popular as El Nido, Port Barton is what you’re looking for.’’ — Asian Wanderlust
We’ll spend the morning snorkelling at two points close to Port Barton. Depending on the weather and crowds, these will either be Wide Reef, Fantastic Reef, Aquarium Reef, Lagoon Reef or Sanctuary Reef. We’ll aim to avoid the crowds so that you can dive into crystal-clear waters teeming with colourful sea life and have them all to yourself – total bliss!
After a tasty Filipino lunch on the beach, we’ll continue to Twin Reef, famed for its large turtle population. Here you’ll have the chance to jump in and come face-to-face with these magnificent creatures.
Before the day’s up, we’ll head to Long or Starfish Island, the latter a tropical sandbar known for the large starfish that reside there. We’ll also hit Exotic Island – a dreamy white sand beach lesser-known to tourists. Let your friendly local guide show you all the secret corners and best photo spots. What more could you want?
‘‘Exotic Island is particularly good if you want to relax on the beach as it isn’t too busy and there’s plenty of space to get away from people if you wish’’ — Something Of Freedom
