As we pass through the rice fields, we&rsquo;ll soak in untarnished views of the bucolic area, observing Cambodian locals go about their daily life. Before heading back, we&rsquo;ll stop at Athvear Pagoda &ndash; a small attractive temple located on the way to Tonle Sap Lake. South of the city center, it&rsquo;s founded on the site of an ancient 12th-century temple built by King SuryavarmanII. The pagoda has its own unique design facing west, like Angkor Wat, and is believed to be dedicated to the God Vishnu.
