About

Ah, Iceland! The “land of fire and ice” is packed with unique geographical features that cannot be found elsewhere on the planet. From visible tectonic plates to UNESCO-protected national parks, it’s certainly one for the bucket list.

Some of the island’s highlights can be found along the south coast, hence we’re taking you exploring this region by comfy minibus from Reykjavik.

Our first stop will be the awe-inspiring Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. While admiring the 60-metre drop and snapping photos are on the agenda, the real highlight is walking behind the cascade. Here, you’ll be close enough to actually feel the vibrations of the water bouncing off the rocks.

After soaking up the sights, we’ll continue to Skógafoss Waterfall. This magnificent sight is usually flanked by an enormous rainbow – definitely one for the ‘gram! You can walk right up to the falls, but be prepared to get totally drenched.

‘‘You’ll get to see stunning rainbows on a sunny day and view the waterfall from a 360-degree view. It's a must do!’’Riddhi, Amsterdam

Next, we’ll embark on the Sólheimajökull Glacier Walk, an exhilarating adventure you’ll remember for years to come. Your certified guide will kit you out with the necessary equipment to hike the icy glacier, filling you in on the freezing water cauldrons and ice sculptures you’ll see along the way. Expect to trek for 1-1.5 hours.

Before the day’s up, we’ll head to Reynisfjara, the most impressive black sand beach in Iceland. Created by powerful volcanoes and shrouded in ancient myths, it was voted by National Geographic as one of the top 10 beaches to visit in the world. The huge basalt columns are thought to look like trolls pulling stranded ships to shore. According to folklore, the trolls stayed out past sunrise and were instantly turned to stone!

‘‘What a great adventure and such beautiful landscape. We felt totally tiny in the middle!’’Cindy, USA
