About
Instead of ordering a glass of tequila from your hotel bar, how about taking a day trip to the town of Tequila – just on the outskirts of Guadalajara – for a chance to learn about the birthplace and production of tequila as well as sip on some local spirits?
We’ll start the day by picking you up from your accommodation and making our way to the charming village of Arenal with the option to have a delicious homemade breakfast from a local eatery. Then we’ll head to a local tequileria for a tequila tasting. Learn how tequila is made and taste the different types of tequila they offer.
“Visiting Tequila, Jalisco turned out to be one of my favorite times in Mexico – it’s really something you shouldn’t miss. The town itself is beautiful and the surrounding landscape makes you feel like you’re in the ‘real Mexico’ (you know, the Mexico you see in the movies!)” – Bailey, Canada
Up next, we’ll make a quick stop at Blue Paradise, known for its Instagrammable swing overseeing stunning 360-degree views, before heading to the town of Tequila. We’ll explore the quaint town before going for lunch. If we’re lucky, we might even get to catch a mariachi show and listen to the catchy music from the local mariachi bands.
Before the day ends, we’ll make our way to an agave field to watch the sunset. We’ll sit back amongst the blue agave plants and sip on some cantaritos (another famous tequila-based cocktail) as we watch the sunset over the horizon.
“It is a lovely little Mexican town filled with the joie de vivre you find in many places in Jalisco but just that little bit more. It truly is quite a pretty place to visit and wander around.” – Donal, Sweden
