Thung Teao Forest Natural Park, also known as the Emerald Pools, is only second to Railay beach as Krabi’s most beautiful site. If you’ve come all the way here, you cannot miss this gem, so set your alarm for your early pick-up because there’s no time for sleeping away a day in paradise!
First you’ll be whisked to the Krabi Hot Springs. The waters bubble at ideal bath-temperature and have been enriched with minerals from their journey through layers of volcanic rock. The locals swear by their health benefits and whether you’re a believer or not, it’s certainly one way to put a spring in your step!
"Krabi certainly has more than its fair share of natural beauty and the Emerald Pool is no exception" – Wander in Two
You’ll continue to reap the benefits of Krabi’s crystal-clear waters as we journey towards the Blue Lagoon and Emerald Pools. Nestled in the heart of the lush rainforest, the emerald hues of these blue and green pools make for a mesmerising stop – and a refreshing dip for you! There’s also time for a jungle walk before we stop for a tasty lunch at a local Thai restaurant.
Of course it wouldn’t be a complete Krabi tour without a trip to the Tiger Cave Temple. Built into the craggy rock faces that characterise the region and surrounded by a vast jungle valley, it’s a place that truly has to be seen to be believed. Despite the name, you won’t get up close and personal to any tigers (probably for the best!), but you’ll meet many a cheeky monkey.
Other ways to spend time include exploring the many gold-gilded Buddha statues and learning about the lives of the monks who call the monastery home. To truly make the most of the experience, sporty sorts can brave the 1,237 stairs to what’s often described as the best view in Thailand. You’ll definitely want to set your camera to pano mode to take in the sprawling rainforest and glittering ocean.
The only thing to remember is to cover your knees and shoulders at the temple – don’t panic, sarongs are available to rent. Aside from that, you’ll only need worry about which of the day’s stunning photos to post first…

Sooo much fun along the way, amazing sites with relaxing hot spring, our best day in Krabi!
The hot springs was the perfect place for me to just kick back and relax. It was the perfect way for me to reward myself after a long hike through the area.
I love nature trips and this was the perfect place for me to get in touch with my surroundings. I really recommend this for anyone visiting!
