About

Make the most of your full day at Ho Chi Minh with our comprehensive city tour featuring visits to key historic attractions: the Independence Palace (also known as the Reunification Palace), the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, War Remnants Museum, and – after a drive into the jungle – the Cu Chi Tunnels.

First we head to the Independence Palace – a classic example of French-Vietnamese 1960s architecture. An airy atmosphere and royal palm trees surround the building’s dated exterior; however, wartime updates have been included. A Vietnamese T-54 tank flanks the gardens, while a helipad sits on the rooftop.

The interiors of the Reunification Palace also hints at a war milieu: reception rooms for dignitaries, a bomb shelter and telecommunications center in the basement, and a network of tunnels underground.

The Notre Dame Cathedral was constructed by colonists between 1863 and 1880, with all building materials directly coming from France. On our visit to this beautiful basilica, we will see the two bell towers, towering over us with height of 58 meters!

Next door to the cathedral is another well-preserved remnant of Vietnam’s colonial past, the Central Post Office. Classic arched windows, wooden shutters, and intricately marble-tiled floors are featured within this fully functional post office; take time to send a letter or a charming postcard while here.

Our immersion into Vietnamese history continues with a visit to the War Remnants Museum, where the country’s struggle for independence against colonialism and invading forces is documented through artifacts such as artillery and armor, the guillotine, and exhibitions of war photos, videos, and films.

We will take a break to savor a sumptuous local Vietnamese lunch, to give us energy for the last part of our tour outside the main city center.

The Cu Chi Tunnels are a warren of interconnected tunnels that were part operations during the Vietnam War. Learn how the Viet Cong soldiers survived through tight tunnels that served as communication and supply routes, food and weapon caches, and even living quarters.

At the sprawling grounds, one can also taste tea and sweet potatoes – guerrilla food staples!

“One for the books… if you love history and culture, this is worth spending for. Our tour guide explained each stop and destination very well. Lunch is awesome too!”Hazel, USA
