Yarra Valley Wineries & Killara Estate Tour – Full Day

The Yarra Valley is the closest premier wine region to Melbourne, and offers many hidden gems, which you will get to sample on this Yarra Valley Day Tour. Only a 40-minute drive from Melbourne CBD, there you’ll find over 170 years of wine-growing history, dating back to 1838. The region is known for its European settlement, and as an area of great abundance for the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung aboriginal people.

Experience this beautiful landscape on one of the best Yarra Valley Wine tours. Prior to leaving the city, concrete jungle will transform into extensive farmlands before your eyes.

First stop is the Gateway Estate, where you will tour the greenhouse and learn about sustainable, organic farming. We will also be sampling a variety of local produce, as well as strawberry picking, which is available at extra cost. Don’t forget to pick up one of the many delicious relishes, preserves or strawberry liqueurs, which you will sample along with platters of fruit and cheese.

After filling up on fruit, it’s time to indulge in free chocolate samples at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery. Watch the chocolatiers at work, and pick up some goodies to take home.

Wash it down at the next stop: the Ciders and Ales Napoleone Brewery. Sample a variety of refreshing ciders, handcrafted by one of the largest producers of apples and stone fruit in Australia. Here we’ll learn all about creating a refreshing crafted cider!

It has already been quite a day with cider tastings, indulging in chocolates, and sampling various other foods, so it is only assumed you’re ready for lunch?! We’ll sit back and relax at the Killara Estate, a beautiful Italian winery, where a relaxed two-course Italian style lunch will be served against a backdrop of breathtaking views of Yarra Valley. Cap off a perfect day with a visit to the most iconic wineries of the Yarra Valley, Hanrahan’s Vineyard. Local wine owner, Bev, will guide you through an incredible selection of wines, while you revel in the funk and stylish boutique cellar door. After a day of sampling, eating and drinking, it’s time to hop back on the bus back to the city with your bag full of delicious goodies.
