Full Moon Party
About
Koh Phangan has many popular beaches on the island, ready for fun with snorkeling, colorful boats, sports and sunbathing. There are architectural houses and bungalows available, and the island is teeming with nightlife areas that offer different activities such as bars and clubs in Haad Rin, Thongsala, Chaloklum and Thong Pai Nan. The famous full moon party is also held here, and it is one of the reasons why travelers love to visit this place. If you're ready to relax and have a good time, Trip Guru suggests a visit to Koh Phangan.
In Haad Rin, there's the iconic Aussie-themed Outback Bar. It's more laid-back than other bars on the beachfront. It features a wide range of spirits and, for sports fans, you can usually watch cricket, rugby and other shows on their TV screens. The bar also serves English breakfast, Irish stew and other delicious food that goes well with beer. If you're interested in some peace and quiet, on the beach in Chaloklum Bay, Cafe Del Mar offers dancing under the stars with their open-air club in the evenings. And of course, the Full Moon Party at Haad Rin Nok Beach is one of the most celebrated cultural events in Koh Phangan, with live fire dancers and music until sunrise.
To get to Koh Phangan, you can take a ferry boat from Koh Samui to get there and it will only take 20 to 30 minutes. When in Koh Phangan, there are cars, taxis, motorcycles or even pickup trucks that you can hire to gain access to the different beaches in Koh Phangan. If visiting for the first time, be aware that the road may be a bit bumpy due to pothole terrain, especially during the rainy season. The best time to visit would be during the dry season, which runs from December to June with minimal rain and endless blue skies. If you’d like to visit during their off-season, Koh Phangan experiences rainfall during July to November.
The nightlife areas are open from 10:00pm or earlier, and close around 2:00am or later. Be sure to take good care of your belongings and be wary for any thieves that may be hiding among the other party-goers. Be sure to keep your valuables locked behind a safety deposit box and don’t forget to lock your rooms when going out or before going to bed.
