Koh Tao at Night
Partying from dusk until dawn
About
Koh Tao may be small, but this island is fast gaining popularity. It has the busy vibe of Samui coupled with the laid-back nature of Pha-Ngan. During the day, Koh Tao has the best diving spots where you can watch sharks and rays swim in between colorful coral. And when you're ready to party, Koh Tao has nightlife that'll have you partying from dusk until dawn. Trip Guru highly recommends a visit, especially for those who just can’t get enough of marine life and dancing.
Koh Tao’s nightlife includes the Sairee Beach, with a beautiful Balinese-style lounge and a restaurant that serves up delicious food. There’s also the Lotus Bar, with its fire dance that’s a sure crowd-pleaser and the Fizz Bar offers funky hi-tech music. The Maya Bar has both local and international DJs that’ll spin tunes while you dine in style. These are just some of the bars that’ll get your blood pumping while you make new friends and celebrate life.
To get to Koh Tao from Koh Samui or Koh Phangan you can take a boat to access these nightlife areas, since airports, trains or buses aren’t available on the island. You can also arrange advanced booking within the neighboring resorts and leave all the hard work to them. Boats are available in the different parts of Koh Samui Island, this includes Thong Sala and Lomprayah Catamaran.
Nightlife areas in Koh Tao vary, some may open from 6:00pm to 10:00pm and close up around 12:00am to 2:00am. Avoid the now-common bike rental scam by taking photos of the bike before you rent it, so that when the manager tries to say that you scratched the bike, you’re well-prepared. For scuba divers, do use protective gear and don’t drink and dive.
