Repulse Bay
Another essential stop for your southside Hong Kong tour is Repulse Bay. It may be an expensive area to live in, but it’s an affordable place to visit closeby to Stanley. Locals stroll to the waterfront in the early mornings, and any sensible Hong Kong travel guide will tell you to join them

Pro tip: There’s a lovely new promenade connecting Repulse Bay to Deep Water Bay, some 3km of walking along the waterfront. If you’re staying at Repulse Bay, enjoy the crescent beach and its newly built strip of restaurants and shops. Jutting out to the sea are statues of the Kwun Yam and Tin Hau deities, important figures in Chinese culture. Set around them are gorgeous flower gardens that run towards the beach.
For a free and sporty activity in Repulse Bay, hike to Shek O, covering a famous trail called the ‘Dragon’s Back’ hike – once awarded TIME’s best urban trail. This beautiful coastal walk takes in views of the South China Sea and takes around 3 hours depending on your speed. Take a Hong Kong tour or go solo, just don’t miss it during your Hong Kong trip!
