Shwethalyaung Buddha: Dating back to the year 994, this ancient reclining Buddha measures 55 metres in length. Like other reclining statues found around Southeast Asia, it represents the wise female form of the Buddha. She&rsquo;s truly a sight to behold!

Shwemawdaw Pagoda: Often called the Golden God Temple, this stupa holds a secret: it&rsquo;s actually the tallest temple in Myanmar, despite the fact that Yangon&rsquo;s Shwedagon Pagoda usually gets credit for this!

Kambawzathardi Golden Palace: This stunning palace decked out in gold detailing is one of Myanmar&rsquo;s best-preserved hidden gems. Here you can wander the royal grounds and feel the splendour of the old Burmese Empire. Don&rsquo;t miss the replica King&rsquo;s coach decorated with gold leaf and peacocks!
