Frequently asked questions
Q: Does the early start catch the sunrise at Wat Arun?
A: No. Wat Arun opens at 08:00, so the early start is about cooler weather and lighter crowds, not sunrise views.
Q: I booked without entrance fees. How should I pay at the gates?
A: Bring about 1,000 THB in cash for the three tickets. Wat Pho and Wat Arun take cash only.
Q: What if my clothes don’t meet the dress code?
A: Wat Arun has sarong rentals near the entrance, but the Grand Palace has the strictest check. It’s safest to arrive in long trousers or a long skirt and covered shoulders.
Q: How do I get to Tha Tien Pier?
A: It’s beside Wat Pho. The nearest station is MRT Sanam Chai, about a 5-minute walk, and Chao Phraya Express boats stop there too (pier N8).
