About
Picture yourself walking through Wat Arun in silk and gold, the temple's porcelain-studded spires glinting above you. Dressing up in Thai traditional costume at the Temple of Dawn has become one of Bangkok's most-shared moments on Instagram and TikTok, and this private experience lets you do it properly, with styling, a guide, and (if you like) a photographer, all taken care of.
Your experience starts at Tha Tien Pier, where your local guide meets you with Wat Arun in full view across the water. Together you'll hop on the ferry and cross the Chao Phraya River, watching long-tail boats zip past as the temple grows larger with every metre.
On the other side, professional stylists take over. Pick your costume, then settle in while they do your hair and makeup and finish the look with traditional accessories. In about twenty minutes, you're ready for the temple.
Now the fun part. Wander the temple courtyards and circle the central prang while your guide explains how the spires were decorated with broken Chinese porcelain once carried as ship ballast, and why the temple is named for the dawn. They'll steer you to the best photo spots too. If you've booked the Photographer package, a professional photographer joins you and captures the moments as you explore.
Choose the timing that suits you. The Early Bird slot starts at 08:00, when the grounds are calmer and the air is cooler. The Golden Hour slot starts at 15:30, when warm late-afternoon light softens the white spires. Both end back at Tha Tien Pier, a short walk from Wat Pho and the Grand Palace if you want to keep exploring.
As a GSTC-certified, carbon-neutral tour operator, TripGuru works with local guides who know Wat Arun inside out, and every tour is run with respect for the temple and the community around it.
