Dating back to 1350, the sites of Ayutthaya Historical Park are a must-visit for fans of history, architecture and religion. Thanks to your experienced tour guide, you’ll learn all about Buddhist history as we explore countless temples.

In the 18th century, much of Ayutthaya was destroyed by Burmese invaders, hence the structures are in various states of disrepair. Tree roots growing around scattered Buddha heads only adds to the historical charm of this unique destination.

We’ll depart from Bangkok bright and early, visiting Bang Pa-In Royal Palace en route to Ayutthaya. Used as a summer residence for ancient Thai kings, the golden pagodas and serene pools make a great introduction to the region’s glorious past.

We’ll also visit Wat Mongkol Borpit known for its enormous seated Buddha statue, then Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, the most holy and important complex of the ancient Thai capital.

Finally, we’ll explore Wat Chaiwatthanaram, known for its towering stone chedis. This site is one of the main reasons Ayutthaya was awarded UNESCO status in 1991. After you’ve taken your fill of photos, we’ll transport you back to Bangkok after a fun and informative day out.
