This 16th-century architectural masterpiece was commissioned by Mihrimah, the daughter of a sultan, and designed by the renowned imperial architect, Mimar Sinan. Legend has it that Mimar, consumed by an unrequited love for Mihrimah, created this majestic mosque as a testament to his affection.
