Caravanserais Place guide

Caravanserais (caravan palaces) are buildings that provided accommodation and other amenities for the merchants and travelers from the ancient times. Some of the most beautiful examples of caravanserais are in the region of Cappadocia, like the Sarihan Caravanserai where you can witness the whimsical and sacred Whirling Dervish Turkish Dance Ceremony.

The Saruhan Kervansaray also comes highly recommended – a Selcuk-era structure built in 1238. It features five knaves, a courtyard, and the ruins of a hamam. Beautifully restored, it hosts atmospheric evening performances by a troupe of whirling dervishes.
